Candidate Biography

Early Life

As a child growing up in the crime ridden community of South Phoenix, Jon Wright knew from a young age he wanted to make a positive difference and fight back against those exploiting his community. Despite the odds against him and challenges of poverty, he moved to the Verde Valley and graduated from Camp Verde High School, later attending college. Working hard to achieve his goals Wright joined the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer.

 

Work Ethic

He worked his way up the ranks, eventually leaving the Army as a Sergeant. After the Army, Wright entered the blue-collar world of construction as an Ironworker. Building some of San Diego’s most iconic hotels, condominiums, and Federal buildings.

 

Deciding it was time to return home to Arizona, he began serving his community as a Yavapai County Deputy. Hard work gave him the opportunity to become a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team member with the Sheriff’s Office, where he honed his skills in crisis management and tactical operations. Though now a business owner and Law Enforcement Officer of a neighboring agency. 

 

Community

Wright’s Christian values have instilled in him a deep commitment to community service and solidified his passion about serving and protecting the lives of those around him. His story is a testament to the power of faith, hard work and perseverance, hoping to inspire others from meager beginnings.

 

Political Ideology

Jon Wright is a strong believer in the 2nd Amendment and Free Speech. As a Conservative Republican, Wright is committed to upholding the Constitution that regulates our fundamental rights and freedoms. He believes that working with the citizens of the county, together they can continue to keep these conservative values at the forefront of Yavapai County’s political landscape.
